Kidney failure. They say it's a gradual, irreversible thing. It makes them nauseated, so they can't keep anything down. We could have kept him hydrated with injections, but the anti-nausea stuff didn't help and he refused to eat.
Hobbes was the original cat in the family and had a friendly disposition. Its sad to see him go but at least he isn't suffering. Hopefully the kids took it all right.

Truly an beast of incomparable quality. Irreplaceable, but hopefully the loss is assuaged by the addition of Ivan to the family.
